Michael has passionately studied, practiced and played the guitar in different  forms...eventually devoting his concentration and discipline primarily to the classical guitar and later included Spanish, flamenco, Celtic, jazz, gypsy jazz, bossa, folk, rock, country, and Latin styles of music.

In 1979 Michael opened for Herbie Hancock in Phoenix, AZ. Michael has also opened for Tom Scott in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ and for Scott Cossu in Portland, Oregon.

In November, 1996 Michael received a CMAA Golden Eagle Award for "Songwriter of the Year" for the song "Lights of the Big 'Ol City' " with co-writer Kenyon Mathews.

Michael's guitar arrangement of "Come Back to Sorrento" from his release "Amor" was placed in a sitcom called "Alice, I Think" airing in Canada. His song "Reminiscence" was placed in an episode of The Onion as well as other opportunities.

Michael has written many original compositions and has released six CD's and he's in the process of creating a seventh CD titled, "Together as One" which are compositions for the wedding couples.

Michael also composes music and soundtracks for third-party commercial projects.

Michael's music is played on satellite radio, local radio, documentaries, a TV commercial, commercial background music and on public radio. His music is used commercially in Britain, Europe and Japan as well as other parts of the world.

Michael has his own production recording studio and also does projects for other songwriters and clients.

Michael has performed at many benefits for such groups as The Inter-Faith Treasure House, and The Johnny Streeter Foundation.  In addition, Michael volunteers and performs his music at local hospitals and other charitable organizations.

In between his busy music writing, recording, and performance careers, Michael is also a professional music teacher of the guitar and bass and he delights in being able to share his passion in music, knowledge and technique with his students.

He's a member of ASCAP and a voting member of the Recording Academy since 1991.
